Beatrice Elizabeth Flota, 95, of Jacksonville, Florida and formerly of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away on February 16, 2016 at her home in Jacksonville, Florida.
Beatrice was born on Wednesday, December 20, 1920 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the daughter of the late Jesse Alfred and Sarah Ida (Patoma) Skinner. She married former Illinois pastor Howard Flota on November 23, 1939 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and just celebrated their 76th Wedding Anniversary. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 19, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Pastor Tom Skinner officiating. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at First Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864. Pastor David Burgess was hospitalized after becoming dizzy and disoriented at church Sunday morning (2/7). He spent the night in ICU at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. This afternoon he was moved to a regular room. Doctors have not determined the cause of his illness.
Sister Aileen Waggoner (widow of George Waggoner) had a fall and broke her hip. She is not strong enough to have corrective surgery, so she will be moved from Good Samaritan Hospital to Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon. Please pray for them. --UPDATE-- Brother Burgess was released from the hospital today (2/11) and is home resting after an apparent bout with food poisoning. Thank you all for your prayers. |
